Scan log
Every scan at the gate, accepted or refused, with its time, code, result, method and who scanned, for one school and one day.
Open the page in SchoolOSWhat it is for
When a guardian says their child came in and was not recorded, or a card is refused at the gate, the answer is here: every scan from the page, a gate tablet or scanner mode, and why it was accepted or refused. A page to look at; nothing on it changes anything.
Who uses it
The page opens for whoever holds “View the scan log”; it is for reading, nothing on it changes anything. In the built-in roles: Owner, Principal, Stage supervisor, Teacher, Counselor. A group grants these to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions, and everyone sees only what is within their own scope.
Step by step
- Choose the school and the day.
- Narrow by result: all results, accepted, duplicates or rejected.
- Read a scan's row: the time, the code, the result, the pupil, the method and who scanned.
- Export the day to Excel or print it.
How it works
Every scan is recorded as it came in, accepted or refused, a duplicate too. The method is “reader / typing”, “search” or “camera”. A star beside the time means the device's clock was out of range, so the server's time was used. A scan reaching the server from a device more than 36 hours late is refused “Too old, not recorded”. The page shows the newest first, and says the full count when there are more than it shows. Each reader sees their own permission's schools only.

Questions
- What does “Other school” mean?
- The pupil is placed at a school other than the one chosen at the gate; their attendance is recorded at their own school's gate.
- What does “Not placed” mean?
- The pupil is not in a class this year. Place them under “Student placement”, and their scan is accepted.
