WhatsApp dashboard
The group's WhatsApp at a glance: the connection and the number's quality, the templates, what went out and what arrived, what came in, the campaigns, and the last failures with each one's reason.
Open the page in SchoolOSWhat it is for
A page for following up; nothing on it changes anything, and it shows numbers, not messages: whether WhatsApp is linked and working, whether the templates are approved, how many messages went out and arrived and why some did not, and how many parents wrote. The messages themselves are on their own pages, for those allowed to open them.
Who uses it
The page opens for whoever holds “View the WhatsApp dashboard”; it is for reading, nothing on it changes anything. In the built-in roles: Owner. A group grants these to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions, and everyone sees only what is within their own scope.
Step by step
- Choose the period: “Last 7 days”, “Last 30 days” or “Last 90 days”, or type the two dates.
- Look at the first row: what arrived, what did not, what is waiting, what came in, the unread chats and the approved templates.
- Follow the chart day by day, then the cards: the connection, the templates, outbound, inbound, the campaigns and the last failures.
- Press a card's link to work on its page: messaging connection, WhatsApp templates, chats or campaigns.
How it works
The period is seven days by default and 92 at most, in the group's own days. “Reached” is what was sent, delivered or read, and “Not reached” what failed or was not sent. Outbound messages are shown by kind: the attendance notice, the custom message, the exit permit, the excuse, a reply in a chat, a campaign, a sign-in code, and others. The number's quality and messaging limit are as Meta last gave them, and “Test the connection” under the messaging connection fetches them. The templates card names SchoolOS's templates that have no approved template yet. The last failures give the time, the kind and the reason, never whom the message was for. Each link shows only to those who open its page.
On the page
- The period's dates.
- The ready periods: seven, thirty and ninety days.
- The period at a glance: reached, not reached, waiting, received, unread, approved templates.
- Day by day: reached, not reached and received.
- The connection: the number, its quality, the messaging limit, and the last word from Meta.
- The templates by their state at Meta, and what the system's set still lacks.
- What went out by kind, and how much of it arrived, was delivered, read or failed.
- The last failures: when, which kind, and why.
Questions
- Why is the number's quality “not set yet”?
- Meta has not reported it yet. Press “Test the connection” under Settings → Messaging connection.
- What does “No approved template yet” mean?
- One of the system's messages has no template Meta approved, so it does not go by WhatsApp. Create it or send it for approval under WhatsApp templates.
- I cannot see the “Messaging connection” link on the connection card.
- It shows only to those who open the messaging connection page, which in the built-in roles is the group's owner.
