Enquiry types

The “Enquiry type” choices on the website's contact form, each with an optional email that is told when an enquiry of that type arrives.

What it is for

When a visitor writes to the school they choose a type: admissions, fees, a complaint, careers, or a general enquiry. The types are added and changed here, each with an optional email for whoever looks after it.

Who uses it

The page opens for whoever holds “View enquiry types”, to look only, or “Manage tenant settings”, to work in it. In the built-in roles: Owner. A group grants these to any role under Settings → Roles and permissions, and everyone sees only what is within their own scope.

Step by step

  1. Press “+ Add type”, type the type's name, and its English name if the group's site is in English.
  2. Type the “Receiving email” if someone should be told of this type's enquiries, then save.
  3. To change a type: the pencil on its row. To delete it: the bin; it is restored from “Deleted”.

How it works

Every enquiry always lands on the “Enquiries” page, whatever its type; the email is an extra that tells whoever is responsible at once. The notice carries no name, phone or message, only a link to sign in and a reference, and none goes for a deleted type. A deleted type leaves the form, and its earlier enquiries stay as they are. “General enquiry” is the default type, the form's last choice, so it cannot be deleted, though its name can be changed. The action log records the type's name and whether it has an email, never the address itself. Only someone holding the group's settings changes the types.

On the page

  • The types, and the deleted ones.
  • Each type's name, receiving email and phone. The pencil changes it, the bin deletes it.
  • “+ Add type”: the name, and a receiving email if you like.
